Peter

I met Peter in November 2021 at my exhibition venue [PZGALLERY]. He was on holiday from London. He happened to be returning from the swimming pool and stopped by the gallery.

I mistook Peter for another Peter and spoke to him. That's how I met Peter.

He works in film production and is a film director. And he is an abstract artist.

I am also an abstract artist, so we had a few things in common.

He visited me several times during the exhibition and filmed my art performance.

Peter's work is fascinating.

Why is it so beautiful and powerful?

One day this month, while I was thinking about this, I received a call from Peter.

He invited me to come and see his exhibition in Penzance (Cornwall, South West England) this month.

We met up in front of the gallery and met again.

I was inspired and energised by the many delightful works.

A number of pieces had sold.

I kept calling them "wonderful".

I wanted to write about Peter in my writing. When I told him how I felt, he said.

I said, "Do an interview with me. Record it." He said.

The next morning it was Peter's day to go back to London. I went to Peter's hotel in the morning in St Just, a 15-minute drive from Penzance.

He greeted me with a big smile and said, "Isn't this location with the sea view lovely!" He greeted me with a big smile.

【Peter's story】

I studied painting as a young man.

I studied painting as a young man, but people thought I wasn't very good at it.

I wonder if that had an effect on me?

I gave up painting and didn't paint for many years.

Then I went into filmmaking. Some of my films are about contemporary art.

I went through various periods and a friend led me to study painting and drawing at the Chelsea Art School at the age of 49.

In terms of age, I was a father, but every day was full of life. I really enjoyed myself when I was doing the painting and drawing course.

I don't use canvas. I use paper board or wood as my support. I use whatever I find on the street for collages. My main painting material is acrylic paint.

'I like acrylic paints because I can work predictably, I can see the effect quickly and they dry quickly. I don't like oils because they don't work that way. So acrylic paints are perfect for my painting expression."

'Paomix is special. It's not a normal acrylic paint. It has a little bit of oil in it. When I first used it, I was amazed at the depth of the colours, the way they jumped out and the way they stretched when I finished. I made a landscape painting with these paints.

Thank you for sharing your powerful paint [Paomix] with me."

He has no plans to paint. His way of painting is that he paints when he wants to, when the time is right, and then the production screen changes and develops. And painting is very liberating, you feel completely free when you paint, and the art reflects life in some way.

Peter told us.

Peter, who has been to Japan on business many times, says

Peter, who has visited Japan many times on business, ended the interview with a message of thanks to the people of

Japan: "Thank you very much.

I felt this many times during the interview. Peter loves painting and enjoys it unselfishly. That spirit, expressed in his paintings, is inspiring to people. I have received many gifts from Peter. It is up to me to make the most of them.
